Four men were brutally shot and killed by unknown armed suspects in a house in Bethelsdorp on August 19. After leaving the scene, the suspects also set fire to a stationary Mercedes Benz outside.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, at about 22:45, the incident happened on Bushfig Street, Extension 32, Bethelsdorp.
He said it is alleged that a 26-year-old male was at home when he was approached by an armed suspect at the door.
“It is further alleged that more suspects then arrived with three more male persons,” he added.
Beetge further added: all four victims, aged 15, 19, 21, and 26 years old, were taken into the lounge area where they were shot and killed by the suspects.
“A murder case for four counts was opened by SAPS Bethelsdorp and is being investigated by the SAPS Eastern Cape Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit.”
