YOUNG Romans FC managed to secure a hard-earned 1-0 win when they locked horns with Real City during their Motherwell Football Association First Division game at the Motherwell NU 13 Grounds on Sunday.
Romans have collected 48 league points after playing 19 games this season.
Romans have won 15 of their matches, drawn three games and suffered their only loss against Future Stars.
As things stand, Romans have a good chance of winning the promotion to the MOFA Premier League.
They are a formidable side, consisting of young, skilled players.
Having played the same number of games as Romans, Arsenal FC went down 3-2 to Khuphuka Stars.
So far, Gunners, as Arsenal FC are affectionately called by their supporters, are in the second position with 43 league points.
Gunners have won 13 games, drawn four games and lost only two games.
In another game, Future Stars drew 1-1 with Seven Sundowns.
Sundowns broke the deadlock after they were awarded a penalty that was scored by their skipper, Mava Klaas.
Sundowns could have scored their second goal, but Soyama Tshuku’s shot was saved by Stars’ goalkeeper.
Anathi Mncono’s efforts went wide instead of increasing Sundowns’ lead.
In the second half, Stars scored their equaliser courtesy of Siyasanga Ngetu, following a goal mouth scramble in front of Sundowns’ goals.
