THE Gelvandale South African Police Service (SAPS) detectives are seeking the community’s assistance relating to two incidents which took place in their policing precinct.
In the first case, on June 4, 2018, at about 17:40, a 24-year-old blind person was fatally injured while crossing Stanford Road.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Johan Rheeder, the victim was with a helper at the time of the accident and the driver of a taxi failed to stop after the accident.
“Investigations led police to a house in Mbete Street in KwaNoxolo where is it alleged that the driver of the taxi may have been living,” Rhee-der said.
Police urgently want to locate James Cabula, who may assist them in their investigation.
In the second case, police are urgently trying to trace any person who can assist them in their investigation of a murder case.
Rheeder added, “On January 1, 2018, at about 03:30, the body of a male was found lying in Pienaar Street.
“The victim was walking alone when he was shot in the back of his head by an unknown person.”
The Gelvandale police are appealing to anyone who may know of or have witnessed such an incident, to contact them.
