CITY Lads’ Women’s Football Club (WFC) donated food parcels to needy players’ families in New Brighton recently.
According to Lads’ head coach, Terry Mrwerwe, as a team they decided to give back to the players’ families in the form of food parcels.
“We saw a need to reach out to some of our players’ families who are experiencing difficulty, especially during this challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Some families feel the pinch because they have nowhere to go during lockdown. Be that as it may, we tried to help with the little that we have, so that the families have something to eat,” said Mrwerwe.
He added that 11 families of some of their players benefited from the food parcels donations that were made possible by their team.
The parcels were delivered to the families by Mrwerwe, team manager, Amanda Ntanta and skipper, Andisiwe Ndesi. – SELBY MADIKANE
