IN recognition of July being significant in aiding the disadvantaged, Transnet Port Terminals employees in the Eastern Cape donated much needed COVID-19 personal protective equipment to 230 learners at the Coega Primary School in Motherwell.
The company’s approach was to take the notion of Mandela Day and extend it, with activities planned from July to August throughout the country. The onset of COVID-19 has introduced a need for society to consider each other.
The primary school is located in Motherwell’s community of Wells Estate, an area facing a multitude of challenges. Through this gesture, Transnet Port Terminals intend to sow hope and demonstrate care during one of the most challenging times of our time.
With the school feeding scheme continuing, learners will each receive one hand sanitiser, two cloth masks, one liquid soap and a pen for use by individual learners and COVID-19 information resources.
