GQEBERHA – Bonisile Trading, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), made a huge difference when they donated full school uniforms and sanitary towels to 60 learners as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting learners during a handover function held at WB Tshume Primary School hall recently.
Bonisile Trading NGO, which started in 2019, consists of three members: Lungiswa Sikhosana, Nontsikelelo Hoboshe and Oneziwe Mahlombe.
Sikhosana said that their NGO felt the learners’ dignity would be restored through the donation of uniforms and sanitary towels.
Sikhosana said, “School uniforms help to restore the dignity of the learners, whilst sanitary towels help the girls to attend school regularly. Today, we believe that these uniforms will help these children to gain confidence.”
Hoboshe highlighted that learners might drop out due to challenges such as not having a full school uniform.
“We visited local schools in our area and found that many learners had no uniforms. We decided to make a huge difference to these vulnerable learners.”
Mahlombe added, “We aim to restore the dignity of these pupils and to ensure they study very hard.”
Departmental head Vuyiswa Ntantiso said that their school was delighted that Bonisile Trading NGO had made a generous donation of school uniforms and sanitary towels to vulnerable learners.
Ntantiso said, “At least the gap between our learners has been slightly reduced. Many learners depend on grants, and as a result, their parents find it difficult to buy all the school essentials.
“On behalf of the school, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Bonisile Trading NGO for making such a significant contribution to our needy learners.”
