On Friday, the Northern Cape Diamonds are playing out for fifth or sixth position in the third and last power week of this year’s Telkom Netball League.
At 16:00 on Friday 12 June, the Northern Cape side will meet North West Tshukudu at the Rembrandt Hall, University of Pretoria.
Diamonds dropped out of the top four of Division 2 on goal average and will play out for fifth and sixth positions in the third leg, said coach Karien Opperman.
During Power Week 2 of the Telkom Netball League, which took place from 22 to 31 May, Diamonds won four of the eight games played. Diamonds beat Lilies by 52-40, Sunbirds by 55-50, Comets by 65-39, and Queens by 52-50.
They lost by 37-53 against Sonoblomo, by 41-45 against Tshukudu, by 51-54 against Tornadoes, and by 51-54 against Baobabs.
After Power Week 2, Diamonds’ Keletso Gontho and Jana Swart are shining on the Player of the Match log, with Gontho receiving five of these accolades and Swart three.
