The Sol Plaatje University (SPU) in Kimberley conferred qualifications on more than 1 500 graduates during its 11th year of graduation ceremonies, which took place over two days at the SPU Great Hall on North Campus.

The Class of 2025 comprises graduates across all four faculties:
- Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences;
- Faculty of Education;
- Faculty of Humanities; and
- Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences.
Graduands of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences and Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, followed by the Faculty of Humanities, graduated on Friday 17 April.
Graduands of the Faculty of Education graduated on Saturday 18 April.
This cohort represents the largest graduating cohort to date for the university.
This 11th time also marks the first ceremony wherein newly appointed chancellor Thebe Ikalafeng officiated.
In a statement, the SPU says graduation represents the completion of formal academic programmes and the transition of students into graduates equipped with disciplinary knowledge and skills relevant to societal and economic needs.
