Applications are now open to apply as voluntary board members at the Helen Bishop Child and Youth Care Centre.

The Helen Bishop Child and Youth Care Centre is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) in terms of the NPO Act, 71 of 1997 and a Child and Youth Care Centre in terms of the Children’s Act, 38 of 2025.

The centre’s care givers provide their services 24 hours a day, throughout the year, across three wards. Care is provided to children from local communities.

Applications

Applications to this orthopaedic aftercare centre in Kimberley are open for voluntary board members whom meet the following criteria:

1. committed to organisational growth and community development;

2. possess knowledge and skills regarding compliance with relevant legislation: Children’s Act, NPO Act and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA);

3. possess knowledge regarding service delivery to children;

4. display sound financial management skills;

5. possess enhanced ethical leadership skills;

6. have expertise that will be value adding to organisational management;

7. does not have pending criminal cases and no criminal record;

8. must not be a government official at the Department of Social Development;

9. not previously dismissed from any previous employment as a result of misconduct;

10. accept the role as volunteer with no expectation of remuneration; and

11. currently not a board member of another NPO.

Applicants can submit the completed application form with required documents to Rev. Yvette Molusi or Chrissie Damons at the NPO in Church Street, Utility, Kimberley, by Thursday 19 February.

Take note

a. Please note that all applicants will be subjected to a vetting and screening process.

b. If you fail to meet the above criteria, withheld information on your curriculum vitae (CV), or are shown to be dishonest with providing of information, you will not be considered as a voluntary board member.

c. The outcome of the vetting process will be corresponded with applicants, with no further consultations in the case your application was not successful.
