Teams of the Young Bafana Soccer Academy enjoyed a perfect weekend, winning all nine of the scheduled matches across all age groups on Saturday and Sunday (29 and 30 August).

The sweep was led by a 4-1 derby victory over rivals De Beers AFC and an under-18 win over the division’s top team.

The club set the tone early Saturday morning at home against Kensington, when the under-12 team opened with a 7-0 victory, followed by a 7-1 win for the under-14s. The under-16 team kept the streak going with a 4-1 winning result, while the under-18 team earned a 3-1 win over the league leaders.

Saturday afternoon featured the Helderberg derby against local rivals De Beers. YB’s second team shut out the visitors 3-0 and the first team secured a 4-1 win to close out the day.

The momentum continued Sunday as the under-18s won a tight catch-up match 2-1 against Shosholoza. In Rondebosch, both the first and second senior teams were awarded 3-0 default victories after Varsity College failed to fulfill their fixtures.
