Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club (GBYC) was filled with creativity, community spirit and plenty of animal-loving generosity on Saturday (29 August) as a collaborative fundraiser for the Animal Welfare Society (AWS) Helderberg raised R5 850 through ticket sales and raffles, along with a generous pile of donated items.

The event was hosted in collaboration by Mindscape Art Studio, Creative Corner and GBYC , with 26 guests participating in the painting experience. Many more people came along to support the cause, buy raffle tickets and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

The raffle prizes were generously sponsored by local Gordon’s Bay businesses, including Beyerskloof winemaker Anri Truter, Im Eimer, Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club, Senses Health and Skin Care Clinic and Studio 9 De Beaute.

The funds raised will go towards sterilisations for animals in need, supporting AWS Helderberg in its ongoing work to help animals in the community.

“A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everyone who attended, donated, bought raffle tickets and supported the fundraiser, as well as to the local businesses that contributed prizes. It was a wonderful example of what can happen when a community comes together for a cause that matters,” a statement from GBYC read.
