Young Bafana FC enjoyed a historic weekend on the pitch, securing promotion from Premier 2 to Premier 1 and winning the combined junior log following a crucial round of fixtures.
The club’s junior academy locked in top-tier status after picking up pivotal victories against Durbanville. The U14 side earned a hard-fought 2 – 1 victory, while the U18s sealed a 3 – 2 win.
Despite narrow setbacks for the U12 team (losing 2–3) and the U16s (falling 0–2), the two junior victories provided the necessary points to win the combined log and guarantee promotion to Premier 1.
In senior action, Young Bafana’s First Team delivered a commanding performance at home, defeating Camps Bay 3 – 0. The three points keep intense pressure on league leaders Avendale at the top of the standings.
The Second Team put together a dominant two-match performance over the weekend. They defeated Camps Bay 5–1 at home, before travelling to West End and securing another emphatic 5–1 victory.
The First Team’s away fixture against West End was halted prematurely while locked at 0–0. The club is awaiting official communication from the league on whether the full match will be replayed or if play will resume for the second half.
