A tip-off led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man in Asanda Village on Sunday 6 September. Public Order Police followed-up on information about drugs in Tyhilani Street early that morning, said provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg.
“A search of the premises led to the discovery of 74 mandrax tablets, two small packets containing tik and 15 rounds of ammunition,” he added.
The officers arrested the man for possession of drugs and illegal possession of ammunition. He was expected to appear in the Strand Magistrates’ Court once charged.
