The latest Western Province club rugby log standings following Saturday’s (6 June) action show a dramatic weekend of mixed results.
In Super League A, Helderberg Rugby Club remain in contention for a top-three finish, sitting in fourth place with 29 points after nine matches.
Their 38-38 draw against 14th-placed Primrose was a missed chance to close the gap on the top three โ UCT, Villager and Maties. They are level with Durbell and maintain their position in the upper half of the log.

Saturday brought mixed fortunes in Super League B. Macassar RFC secured a hard-fought 21-16 victory over Bellville, keeping them firmly in first place with 34 points and opening up a three-point gap at the summit.
All Saints pushed Young People’s to the limit in a 78-point contest, falling just short at 40-38. The defeat keeps them in second place with 31 points, picking up valuable bonus points. They will view it as a missed chance to leapfrog Macassar.
St George’s are in a nervy 15th position with 11 points, facing a steep climb from the relegation zone.

Super League C produced the biggest upset of the weekend, as Raithby Universals edged log-leaders Kylemore 44-41. The victory moves Raithby to 10th place with 18 points, boosting their mid-table campaign.

Sir Lowrians sat out the weekend in seventh place with 22 points, while Strand United are in 16th place with three points.

In the Northern League, Gordon’s Bay Pioneers suffered a 37-17 defeat to Whistling Wheels, leaving them in ninth place on nine points, while Faure move up to fifth with 24 points following their 30-23 victory over Police Blackheath.
