Last year, Andrews’ Soles for Souls campaign, which has provided 42โ€‰200 pairs to children who cannot afford footwear, donated to learners from Lwandle and Strand schools (“Deputy mayor’s on a sole mission,” DistrictMail & Helderberg Gazette, 1 October 2025).

“Thank you to the deputy mayor for reaching out,” said Cerfontein, adding that instead spending funds on much-needed school shoes, parents will now be able to buy other uniform items.
