Prizes are up for grabs in this year’s BONfire Braai Master Competition, scheduled for Saturday 19 September. BON Hotel Bloemfontein Central is celebrating Heritage Day early and is looking for the best braaier.

A total of 20 teams will compete against each other in the competition, which will take place on the rooftop at BON from 10:00.

The entry fee is R3 500 for a team of two. This gets them all the ingredients from the pantry, their spot on the roof and the chance to win prizes.

Each team will be judged on team spirit, their stand, the quality of the coals, technique and preparation.

Contestants need to bring their own gazebo; a braai; wood or charcoal; utensils; pots and pans; cutlery; crockery; a table and chairs; linen and branded items.

With BONfire Braai Master, BON Hotel will give back to the community with a donation to Towers of Hope.
