The Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) invited stakeholders to attend the first of two Integrated Development Plan (IDP) stakeholder engagements held at the Worcester Town Hall.
Registered community organisations and NGOs/NPOs from the Breede Valley, Langberg and Witzenberg discussed burning issues in their communities.
“Public participation is paramount in a democracy. The Cape Winelands District Municipality prides itself in having a participative style and values the importance of partnerships as we prepare for the 2022/2023 financial year,” said executive mayor, Dr Elna von Schlicht, addressing the stakeholders.
Representatives brought many issues to the discussion, the most urgent themes being, youth development, skills upliftment, ECD support and community safety.
