Two high-quality grape farms in the Trawal region are to be sold via the tender process in August 2016.
The two farms, Lushof and Tweeriviere, produce grapes and raisins for export. The farms, which border the Doring River, have exceptionally fertile soil.
There is currently 31,6 ha of land under vineyards, which comprises of 3,4 ha Merbein seedless, 12,05 ha Sultana, 2,26 ha Flame, and 13,89 ha currants.
There is a micro and drip irrigation system already installed. Altogether 22,2 ha of land is listed with the Lorwua Irrigation Board, and there is ample water from the river.
The main dwelling is about 225 m² in size and has at least two garages and a spacious workshop (±155 m²). There is also a storeroom (±190 m²), accommodation for workers (±340 m²) and a drying-bed (±1800 m²).
Both farms are well-managed and maintained.
Trawal is situated in the Western Cape not far from Lamberts Bay and Vredendal. Just a few hours from Cape Town by car, the area is well-known for its excellent quality soil and export-quality grapes.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to obtain high quality land,” said Albie Loubser of BKB Properties. “The area has proven itself with great quality grapes and raisins, there are also some award-winning wine farms not far from here. This is a beautiful region of the Western Cape, making this both a good lifestyle and business opportunity.”
Tender documents are available from BKB Properties, Cecilia Square, 100 Cecilia Street, Paarl. Tenders close on Wednesday 17 August at 12:00 and will be opened at 12:15 on the same day.
