Residents of Spokiesdorp Informal Settlement in Rawsonville have been evacuated to Van Heysteen Community Hall following rising river levels.
The Breede Valley Municipality is providing transport to the evacuation centre, whilst municipal officials, Disaster Management and Fire & Rescue Services assist the community on site.
Residents requiring assistance can contact 0860 12 12 12, 023 342 2430, or 107 from a Telkom landline.
