A trip to Worcester’s Golden Valley Casino turned into a windfall for one lucky visitor, who went home with prize money of just under R875 000.
The guest had been playing at a slot machine when he triggered the SunStriker jackpot with a minimum bet of R5. He had not been playing long and had spent only R100.
The guest, who would like to remain anonymous, was booked into The Golden Valley Lodge with his wife. Casino staff described him as a regular who had visited for many years, and they are delighted for him.
He was excited and extremely grateful for his win, the biggest amount he had ever won. “I was obviously elated at the time,” he said, “but it was only the next morning that I realised what had actually happened. I plan to pay off my wife’s car and will invest the rest of the money. We always enjoy our visits and look forward to returning soon!”
