The McGregor bridge has fully reopened to all classes of vehicles following extensive repairs to flood damage.

The Western Cape Department of Infrastructure confirmed the reopening on Monday, 27 July.

The bridge restores a vital transport link for residents, businesses and road users in the area.

Construction teams remain on site to complete road markings and other finishing works. Motorists are advised to obey all temporary signage and exercise caution while these final works are underway.

Provincial minister of infrastructure Tertius Simmers thanked the McGregor community, businesses and road users for their patience during the repair process in a statement posted on Facebook.

“This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our engineering teams, contractors and partners who worked tirelessly to restore this critical crossing,” Simmers said.
