Zwelethemba is set to be abuzz with sports activities this coming weekend.
The Kasie GBV Cup takes place on 16 and 17 August at the Zwelethemba Sports Grounds. It will be hosted by the Riverside Rangers, led by Andile Mapingana.
Both netball and soccer games will be played, with a number of teams having already signed up. A joining fee of R1 000 per soccer team and R600 per netball team is applicable.
Trophies and substantial prize money are up for grabs for the first three teams.
The aim of the tournament is also to raise awareness of gender-based violence among the community’s youth.
