The general manager for communications in the Mangaung Metro, Qondile Khedama, is on special leave hanging an investigation into sexual harassment.
The city manager, Sello More, said in a news release an independent team will conduct an investigation into allegations made about Khedama.
He confirmed that Khedama was on special leave following the receipt of a formal report from the Employee Wellness Division.

“The city takes allegations of sexual harassment extremely serious,” More says. This follows a grievance hearing held with organised labour and Khedama. The decision to place the general manager on special leave, does not constitute a finding of guilt,” More said on Tuesday 9 December.

“It is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring a fair, transparent and just process for all parties involved.
“The investigation team must conduct a thorough investigation and provide recommendations to the accounting officer within strict guidelines. The city remains committed to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace for all employees,” More said.
