York High School, George, proudly celebrates a landmark achievement as our 1st Team Boys Squash became the first in school history to qualify for the prestigious SA Top Schools Squash Tournament, hosted at Epworth School in Pietermaritzburg.
National Stage
After winning all their regional qualifying matches, the Yorkies earned their place among South Africa’s elite squash schools, competing against some of the strongest programmes in the country.

Despite narrow scorelines, York pushed every opponent to the limit, with several matches decided by the finest of margins. Their efforts secured an impressive 8th place in the national rankings.
Beyond the Scoreboard
The team’s achievement extended far beyond results. Throughout the tournament, York High was praised for professionalism, exemplary behaviour, and sportsmanship—representing the school with pride both on and off the court.
