Union High School learners Konkwe Gawula, Abigail Adam, and Antonia Adams proudly represented the Sarah Baartman District at the provincial speech competition in Qonce. The competition was hosted by the Department of Water and Sanitation.
Speaking on the theme “Building Water-Wise Communities”, the trio showcased their confidence, thoughtful ideas, and well‑honed communication and debating skills. They earned recognition at both the district and school levels.
Special congratulations go to Konkwe Gawula. He was selected as one of only six speakers to represent the Eastern Cape at the upcoming national competition in Johannesburg. He will compete in October at the prestigious three‑day event alongside learners from across South Africa.
