St Dominics Newcastle is celebrating an extraordinary national achievement after three of its talented learners were crowned South Africa’s Coding and Robotics Champions at the prestigious Curro Nationals competition.

Aarav Siveraj, Chimdi Chukwu, and Joshua Swart demonstrated exceptional innovation, problem‑solving skills, teamwork, and determination as they competed against some of the country’s brightest young minds. Their outstanding performance earned them first place in South Africa for Coding and Robotics, making them national champions.

This remarkable achievement of St Dominics Newcastle National Coding is the result of countless hours of dedication, perseverance, and a shared passion for technology and innovation.

St Dominics Newcastle also extends its sincere congratulations to Mr Schalk Louwrens and Mr Freddie Boshoff, whose commitment, guidance, and passion for Coding and Robotics played a pivotal role in developing and inspiring these exceptional young innovators.

“This incredible accomplishment reflects not only the talent of the learners but also the culture of excellence, creativity, and future‑focused learning that we strive to cultivate at St Dominics Newcastle,” said Executive Head Mrs Shirley McGhee.

Winning the national title is a proud milestone for the school, which is turning 135 years old this year, and highlights the growing importance of STEM education in preparing learners for the future.

“The entire St Dom’s community is immensely proud of Aarav, Chimdi and Joshua, as well as Mr Louwrens and Mr Boshoff, for flying the school’s flag high and proving that with hard work, innovation and teamwork, South African learners can achieve extraordinary success.”
