This past weekend, Michaelhouse, KwaZulu-Natal hosted their final fixtures against Hilton College. It was a day brimming with fierce competition, camaraderie, and unforgettable passion from both sides.
On the turf, the hockey teams contested fourteen matches, securing seven wins, three losses, and four draws. Meanwhile, the rugby boys battled through nineteen encounters, emerging victorious in fourteen, with four defeats and one draw (including spirited fixtures for the 8th XV and U15D sides against Wembley College).
Yet, as remarkable as the results were, the day was about far more than numbers on a scoreboard. As Head of Sport Ryan Ravenscroft reflected: “It’s not so much about us winning, but that sport won in the end.”
“To the Michaelhouse players, coaches, staff, families, and Old Boys — thank you for making this finale so memorable. And to our boys, who left everything on the field and represented Michaelhouse with such pride: you gave us the perfect ending to a season defined by heart, grit, and brotherhood.”
