St Andrew’s College Pipe Band Crowned South African Grade 4 Champions.
St Andrew’s College Pipe Band has achieved a historic milestone, securing its first-ever South African Grade 4 Championship title at the national competition hosted by St Benedict’s on 25 July.
Competing for the very first time in the South African Pipe Band Championships, the band entered both the Novice Juvenile and Grade 4 categories. While nerves impacted the opening performances, resulting in a second-place finish in the Novice Juvenile event, the band rallied with determination and delivered a commanding performance in the Grade 4 category. Their resilience and skill earned them the coveted championship crown, marking a proud moment in the College’s history.
This triumph reflects the unwavering dedication, discipline, and teamwork of the players throughout an exceptionally successful season. It also signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the band, laying a strong foundation for future achievements.
