EASTERN CAPE – Police are appealing for information after two men were found dead and a third seriously injured following an assault near the R334 in the Coega area, Eastern Cape, on Saturday 19 September.

SAPS Eastern Cape said in a statement that police received a complaint at approximately 10:23 regarding a murder next to the R334 in Coega. On responding to the scene, officers found three male victims with serious assault-related injuries.

Two of the victims, both believed to be around 30 years old, were declared dead at the scene. The third victim was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, and the motive for the attack and identity of the suspect or suspects are not known at this stage,” a SAPS spokesperson said. “The identities of the deceased will be released once their next of kin have been formally informed.”

SAPS Swartkops detectives are appealing to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective Sergeant Riedewaan Wessels on 082 442 1099, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or to provide information anonymously via the MySAPS App.
