Young biokineticist kidnapped outside medical centre in Gqeberha

Police in Gqeberha are searching for a young biokineticist who was allegedly kidnapped outside of the Newton Medical Centre in Newton Park this morning, March 16.

According to reports received by PE Express, the young woman is known as Riana Pretorius and was allegedly kidnapped by three men at about 08:00 outside of her workplace in Pickering Street in Newton Park.

The men then took off with her in a white Toyota Corolla.

The SAPS have gone on to search in Motherwell and New Brighton.

According to Cara-Lee Dorfling from Netwerk24, the vehicle was later found in Deal Party by the police, where they caught one suspect, but there was no sign of Pretorius.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the local police have been advised to not give comment as the Hawks have taken over the investigation.

Eastern Cape Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela confirmed that the white Toyota Corolla which was used in the commission of the crime was recovered.

She also said one suspect was found inside the vehicle with a firearm.

“There is currently no other information to share on the case and the police are continuing with their investigation,” said Mgolodela.
