The Community Chest Winter Woolly Drive is in full swing. They are still encouraging the public to take the time to do a closet clear-out and donate all their unwanted clothing items and blankets towards this worthy cause.

“We have experienced some very cold weather conditions in the metro the last couple of days. Most of our vulnerable community members are braving these harsh winter days,” said Colette Theron, marketing manager, Community Chest.

“Our Winter Woolly Drive has already reached out to a number of old age homes, daycare centres and soup kitchens. We handed out clothing and much-needed warm blankets,”

The Ekuphumleni Old Age Home received some warm items. At the back are Lifa Kulafi, Mongameli Peter Geraldo Carnivale, Mike Tseotso, (all from Ekuphumleni Old Age), Sandy Abdoll (Community Chest) and Pumla Sweli. In front are Vuyisile Biko, Monwabisi Ngwabane, and Ncikazi Mafongosana.

For more information on how to get involved or donate, contact the Community Chest at 041 582 1592 or send an email to colettep@cchestpe.org.za.
