Gqeberha police are investigating a triple murder and attempted murder after three men were shot dead and a fourth was hospitalised in Wells Estate on Wednesday, February 19.
According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, at approximately 11:00, SAPS Swartkops responded to a complaint of a shooting at Elephant Park, Informal Settlement, Dwarha Street, Wells Estate.
“On arrival, the members found a green Ford Fiesta standing against a lamp pole between shacks, with gunshots on the vehicle.
“The members found three deceased men with multiple gunshot wounds to the head; two victims aged 23 and 32 were inside the vehicle, a third victim, age unknown, was outside the vehicle, and the fourth victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” she reported.
She stated that there is no further information at the moment and that the names of the deceased will only be released once they have been identified by the next of kin.
“Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding the murders to contact the investigating officer D/Lt Col Monde Sitole at 082 457 2812, Crime Stop at 08600 1011, or the nearest police station. Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App.
