ZWIFA Mwalimu Youth Development Tourney results

FANS gathered at Young Romans and Zwide Celtics Grounds for the Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Mwalimu Youth Development Tournament games on Sunday.

The tournament began last weekend with the aim of preparing the teams for the upcoming ZWIFA league games.

Young Romans Grounds: Everton FC suffered a 2-0 loss against Duka Cosmos. Hungry Lions and Young Killers shared a 1-1 draw. Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club thrashed Kuyasa United Brothers 4-1, while Real Crusaders suffered an unexpected 2-1 defeat to Umanyano Stars.

Zwide Celtics Grounds: Morning Stars held Zwide Pirates to a 2-2 draw. The tough Mwalimu All Stars went down 2-1 to Young Brothers.

Tournament specialists, Shining Stars, registered a narrow 1-0 triumph over Gal City. Amadamara FC did not struggle to claim a well-deserved 4-2 win against Alaska during their clash.

Shining Stars FC continue making supporters happy

MOTHERWELL side, Shining Stars FC, continued to keep their supporters on cloud nine after they overcame Eastern Cape Celtics 1-0 during their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) Hollywoodbets Regional League Stream A tough game at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It was an end-to-end situation as both sides were searching for their opening goal. Anothando Ngwendu delivered a low cross which seemed to be too strong for Asonge Lwani with Celtics’ goalkeeper, Samkelo Mni, well beaten in the 60th minute. It took 75 minutes for the hosts to register their goal after Ngwendu scored a penalty when one of the Celtics’ defenders touched the ball with his hand in the penalty area.

Young Ideas FC earn victory over Royal Bucks FC

ZUKISANI Mnyaka made his presence felt after he sent a thumping strike that guided Young Ideas FC to a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over the unpredictable Royal Bucks FC during their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Premier League clash at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.

Bisho Stars secured an easy 4-0 victory over the newly promoted Bay Eagles during their game at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday. Young Madrid embarrassed Channel Porto 6-1 at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium.

Peace Makers FC lose match on soft points

SAFA Eastern Cape Provincial Acting Executive Officer, Secretary Sikelela Mtangayi, said that the Gqeberha outfit, Peace Makers, arrived late for their away ABC Motsepe League Coastal Stream game against EMI FC, which was scheduled to take place at Lady Grey Stadium in Lady Grey on Saturday.

Mtangayi stated that the game was scheduled for 15:00, but the Makers arrived after the scheduled kickoff. According to Sikelela, under SAFA rules, any team arriving late for a game is typically considered to have forfeited the match on a walkover, with no grace period for late arrival allowed.

The Makers have not yet won any games after 10 matches since the start of the season. The Gqeberha side managed to collect two points after drawing twice. As things stand, they face a mammoth task in their bid to fight relegation. Their next game will be against Camdeboo Football Academy Development in Graaff Reinet on Saturday.

FC Ravens proved unrivalled after they defeated Sinenkani FC 1-0 during their Inland Stream encounter at Mphuthumi Mafumbatha Stadium in Bizana on Saturday. The victory helped widen the gap to seven points above Sinenkani, who have 14 league points from seven games.
