Swartkops United FC are ZAFA log leaders
FORMER Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Premier League side, Swartkops United FC, are on top of Zakhele Football Association (ZAFA) Premier League log table.
After winning all their matches, Swartkops has accumulated 12 league points, scoring 12 goals, and only conceded two so far.
Swartkops claimed three league points from Dynamos, who did not pitch up for their game at Eleven Angels Grounds on Saturday.
The newcomers, Young Boys, surprised Black Eagles after by winning 1–0 during their spectacular game at Eleven Angels Grounds on Saturday. Other title chasers and the hosts, Eleven Angels, hammered Charge United 6–2 during their scrappy match.
Royal Blues, who set their sights on ZAFA Premier League title, were heartbroken after Stone Breakers held them into a 1–1 draw during their game at Dynamos Grounds on Saturday.
Seven United did not sweat for their three league points as their opponents, United Comrades, failed to turn up for their game at Dynamos Grounds on Saturday.
Island City FC supporters were disappointed when they saw their side go down 6–0 to Golden Brothers FC at Dynamos Grounds on Saturday as well.
Dynamos FC play their hearts out despite their loss to Royal Bucks
KWAZAKHELE-based side Dynamos FC, formerly called Site Young Killers FC, played their hearts out despite their 2–1 loss to Royal Bucks during their enthralling SAFA NMB Hollywood Bets Regional League clash at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.
Dynamos came to the game to be in the top eight, while Bucks wanted to cement their position amongst the top eight teams.
Bucks star player, Asive Hewana, laid a good pass to his striker, Lathitha Mhlekwa, who managed to beat goalkeeper, Phumlani Koboka, in the 36th minute.
Dynamos cancelled the joy of Bucks supporters as Owethu Nkqoli banged in his side’s equaliser in the 38th minute, with Bucks goalkeeper, Mandimbonge Mahlathi, well-beaten.
With just minutes left, Bucks’ skipper, Andile Benz Mtati, scored a spectacular goal that guided Bucks to claim a hard-fought 2–1 win over Amagugu.
In their last game of the season, Camper United secured a 1–0 win over Bay Tigers at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday. Ahluma Ncilata scored Camper’s goal with Tigers’ mid-fielder, Denielsen Peterson, being man of the match.
Old Grey FC are the SAFA NMB Hollywood Bets Regional League 2023/2024 Season champions, as they closed the season with a narrow 4–3 win over New Brighton Academy at SAPS Main Ground in Mount Croix on Saturday.

FC Angels salvage important draw with Arsenal FC
PLAYING with just 10 men on the field, FC Angels came from behind as they salvaged an important 1–1 draw when they took on their neighbours, Arsenal FC, during their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Premier League game at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Sunday.
Angels were reduced to 10 men after their goalkeeper, John Last, was given a red card by the referee as he fouled an Arsenal FC player in a one-on-one situation. The makeshift goalkeeper excelled in the goals, as he pulled some brilliant saves. The first half ended in a goalless draw, as both sides could not break the deadlock.
Arsenal FC mid-fielder, Siyakholwa Ngalo, rounded two Angels defenders, and made a perfect pass to striker, Luyanda Heavy Tinise, who scored the first goal, which put Arsenal FC 1–0 ahead in the 59th minute.
Angels’ evergreen defender, Uyanda Majali, managed to close down Tinise when he scored his second goal in the 67th minute.
Angels left full-back, Ayabonga Jonas, was fouled by an Arsenal defender, which led to the referee giving a free kick to Angels. This was taken by Mawethu Jonas, whose long-range volley beat Arsenal goalkeeper, Ayaxola Dikana, in the 72nd minute.
