Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club keep winning

ZWIDE-based Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club collected six league points over the weekend, in their bid to lift the SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Hollywood Bets Regional League trophy.

Chiefs surprised the log leaders, Old Grey, overcoming them 2–0 during their exciting contest at Khayamnandi Community Grounds in Despatch on Saturday.

Chiefs continued where they left off, after they thrashed Despatch Pioneers 8–2 at Khayamnandi Community Grounds on Sunday. Old Grey bounced back from their loss after they defeated Stinging Bees 2–1 at Chevrolet Stadium in New Brighton on Sunday.

Other title contenders, EC Celtics, lost five league points. Red Lions defeated Celtics 2–1 at Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday, before the Celtics were held to a 1–1 draw by Highland Spurs at Khayamnandi Community Grounds on Sunday.

The game between Camper United and Stinging Bees, which was going to take place at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday, was postponed until further notice. Camper played to a 1–1 draw against New Brighton Academy at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Sunday.

Only two unbeaten sides in NMB Industrial Football Association League

ASPEN and Tenneco are the only sides in the Nelson Mandela Bay Industrial Football Association League to have won all their games since the start of the season.

Both outfits have collected 12 league points each after playing four games each.

Aspen have scored 24 goals, conceding only four. So far, Tenneco has scored 21 league goals and only conceded one. As both teams have a goal tally of 20 apiece, Aspen are log leaders as they have scored more goals than Tenneco.

Aspen proved beyond any doubt that they are a major force to be reckoned with, after they hammered Hi-Tech Auto 6–1 during their game at Jubilee Ground 2 in Kariega on Sunday.

Tenneco registered a convincing 7–1 win over Forvia Port Elizabeth at Jubilee Ground 1 on Sunday.

Heineken Distell shared a 1–1 draw with Continental at Jubilee Ground 1, while Coega Dairy were awarded soft points after Kanu failed to pitch for their game at Jubilee Ground 1.

Despite their 3–2 loss, Borbet gave a good account of themselves when they took on Purem Eberspacher at Jubilee Ground 2.

Benteler earned a hard 3–2 win over BKB during their tough game at Jubilee Ground 2.

Teams punished in Northern Areas Football Association Premier League

FANS saw some sides being punished by their opponents during the Northern Areas Football Association (NAFA) Premier League games on Saturday and Sunday.

During the NAFA Premier League Stream B games, Windvogel All Stars supporters saw their side suffer a 3–1 defeat to the high-riding Saints FC during their clash at Gelvan Turf on Saturday.

The die-hard Shamrocks FC supporters saw their side succumb 2–0 to Fairdene FC at Malabar Field 1 on Saturday.

Stardrift FC gave Fairview Rovers a 3–1 hiding at Marock Road Field 1, while fans were on their feet when Bloem Stars played to a 1–1 draw with Apex FC at Finnis Street Field 2.

In the NAFA Premier League Stream A games, only two sides suffered huge defeats on Sunday. The hosts, Hotspurs FC, disappointed their supporters after they were embarrassed 4–1 by Glenville Celtic at Malabar Field 1, and the Helenvale community were also heartbroken, when their popular side tasted a surprise 4–1 defeat to Park United at Helenvale Grounds.

Blackpool AFC, who hosted West Lake at Marock Road Field 1, secured a league point in their 1–1 draw. Bloom Callies also played to a 1–1 draw against Rangers at Finnis Field 1.

ZWIFA Premier League host thrilling games

FANS were excited after they saw teams score more goals during their Zwide Football Association League games over the weekend.

In the ZWIFA Premier League games that took place at Shining Stars Grounds on Saturday, Everton FC drew 3–3 with Real Crusaders; Amadamara embarrassed Alaska FC 5–1 in their one-sided clash, and Gal City, who had no reply, crashed 7–0 to the ruthless Zwide Pirates.

To the delight of Shining Stars supporters, their side – who are the log leaders and current league champions – demolished Duka Cosmos 4–0 in a match at Zwide Celtics Grounds on Saturday.

ZWIFA Premier League title contenders, Strikers United, edged out the struggling Sophakama 3–1, while Mwalimu All Stars overcame Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club 2–1 at Zwide Celtics Grounds.

On Sunday the ZWIFA Super League games were played at Shining Stars Grounds.

Young Killers shared a 1–1 draw with Morning Stars. Zwide Celtics supporters were disenchanted when their side lost 5–2 to Mighty Heroes. Umanyano Stars were heartbroken when they went down 4–0 to Golden Aces.

Fans were kept on their toes when Kuyasa United Brothers played to a 2–2 result against Zwide Pirates.
