Amadamara FC is the ZWIFA Mayoral Cup winner
IT was crunch time when Amadamara FC faced Strikers United FC during the Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Mayoral Cup finals at Zwide Stadium on Sunday.
Strikers won the toss and elected to start the game against the wind. Strikers put pressure to Amadamara, but their goalkeeper, Lonelo Skade, was on top of his game. Anele Majola whipped in a good cross to his striker, Azola Vusani, who unleashed a hotshot saved by Skade.
Amadamara nearly broke the deadlock, after their seasoned striker, Zolisa Mgqwelana’s kick, was parried by Strikers’ goalkeeper, Siyavuya Dyantjies,, over the goals.
Amadamara registered their opening goal courtesy of Unam Bekwapi, following an assist by Yanga Feni in the 55th minute. Azola Sister’s shot was saved by Skade.
Strikers’ long-awaited goal was scored by Zolani Ndzaba, from the penalty spot. Amadamara FC’s Liyema Makoki scored a quick goal made by Liyema Makoki.
Amadamara FC, who lifted the trophy, was crowned the ZWIFA Mayoral Cup winner, as they claimed a hard-fought 2–1 victory.
MSE FC upset the title contenders in MOFA Premier League
MOTHERWELL School of Excellence (MSE) FC surprised the title contenders Eleven Stars, after beating them 1–0 during a Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Premier League clash at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.
Iva Bell scored the only goal, in the last minutes of the first half.
Just before the first half whistle, MSE FC were reduced to 10 men after Khulile Masiza was adjudged by the referee to have headed his opponent deliberately.
On Sunday, Stars made their supporters happy by collecting three league points in their 2–0 victory over Manchester United at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium. MSE FC shared a 3–3 draw with Black Vultures during their game at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Sunday as well.
In the First Division, the title contenders, Bay Eagles and Seven Sundowns Sports Club, played to a goalless draw during their clash at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Friday. Eagles drew 1–1 with Lion City at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Saturday, while Sundowns hammered Ramaphosa AFC 6–1 at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Sunday.

Old Grey FC still leads the pack in SAFA NMB Hollywood Bets Regional League
SINCE the start of the season, Old Grey (OG) FC has played impressive football although they are new campaigners in the SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Hollywood Bets Regional League.
After 24 league games, they have 17 straight wins, four draws, and three losses. OGFC have managed to accumulate 55 league points, while EC Celtics, who played the same number of games, are five points behind.
OGFC secured a well-deserved 4–2 victory when they played against Royal Bucks at SAPS Main Grounds in Mount Croix on Saturday. Celtics registered an away 2–0 triumph against struggling Eleven Stars during their game at Jabavu Stadium on Saturday.
The third-placed Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club, the only side which has not yet tasted defeat, beat Camper United 1–0 at Khayamnandi Community Sports Grounds in Despatch on Saturday.
The struggling Madibaz Football secured a well-deserved 3–0 home win over Despatch Pioneers at NMU South Campus Grounds in Summerstrand on Saturday. In another battle of the struggling sides, Port Elizabeth FC overcame Roaring Tigers 4–2 at Gelvan Fields.

Volcano Ladies FC demolish Rhodes University
MOTHERWELL-based side, Volcano Ladies’ FC, were ruthless when they demolished Rhodes University 9–0 during their Sasol League Ladies’ Coastal Stream clash at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.
Volcano’s right full-back, Sanele Ntamo, scored the opening goal from the penalty spot 10 minutes into the first half. Lulutho Yili scored next.
Rhodes goalkeeper, Sanele Kula, was kept busy, but only conceded two goals in the entire first half.
Yili continued where she left off as she banged in her second goal. Volcano central striker Ogcobo Rala scored her first half goal in the 49th minute.
Zezethu Ntinga registered the hosts’ fifth goal, and in the last 10 minutes of the game Ntinga scored three more goals, while Rala produced a second goal.
