Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club maintain unbeaten record
ONE of Zwide’s oldest sides, Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club, has been unbeaten since the start of SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Hollywood Bets Regional League season.
On Saturday, Amakhosi gave Port Elizabeth FC a 4–0 hiding during their game at Khayamnandi Community Grounds in Despatch. Chiefs edged out Eleven Stars 3–0 at Jabavu Stadium on Sunday. As things stand, Chiefs currently hold fourth place in the league log standings.
The current log leaders, Old Grey FC, continue to win games in their bid to win the league title. New Brighton Academy gave Old Grey FC a tough time, despite their 1–0 loss to the log leaders. Old Grey claimed a well-deserved 2–0 win over Dynamos at KwaZakhele on Sunday.
Camper United FC also set their sights on winning the league’s prestigious trophy. On Saturday, Camper collected three league points in their away 3–2 triumph over Bay Tigers at Veeplaas Turf Stadium.
Camper also defeated Real Madrid FC 2–1 in their exciting clash at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Sunday.
EC Celtics FC also joined the sides that won their double headers. Siwelele overcame Roaring Tigers 2–1 at Khayamnandi on Saturday, and continued their winning run in a hard-fought 1–0 home victory over New Brighton Academy on Sunday.
Stinging Bees’ supporters saw their side win both away matches with a 5–3 win over Despatch Pioneers at Khayamnandi Community Grounds, and a 2–1 win over Red City at Chevrolet Stadium, on Saturday and on Sunday respectively.

Birds, Warriors and Aces collect six points in double headers
Mighty Birds, Mighty Warriors and Young Aces managed to collect six points each after they won their double headers during Port Elizabeth East Football Association (PEEFA) Premier League encounters at Veeplaas Turf Stadium over the weekend.
Birds trounced Soweto Eleven FC 4–1 in their one-sided affair on Saturday. Afterwards, Birds, who have their sights on the premier league trophy, defeated Real Lions 3–1 on Sunday. On the other side, Warriors drubbed Red City 3–0 in their match on Saturday. Warriors’ supporters saw their side claiming a well-deserved 2–0 victory over the once-tough Real Aces on Sunday.
Young Aces beat Veeplaas Golden Stars 2–0 on Saturday. Aces continued with their winning ways, as they hammered Young Teenagers 4–0 in their one-way traffic situation game on Sunday.
PEEFA Premier League champions, United Brothers, managed to collect only four points, after dropping two in their goalless draw against the struggling Hillside United on Saturday. Brothers redeemed themselves with a 2–1 victory over Veeplaas Golden Stars on Sunday.
United Eleven Brothers accumulated four points in their double-header. In the first game Eleven Brothers snatched a convincing 3–1 win over Joe Slovo Golden Stars, while in their second they were held to a 2–2 draw by Forresters.
Forresters drew 4–4 with Teenagers, while Real Lions beat Peace Lovers 2–1 during their tough match on Saturday. Red City played to a goalless draw against Hillside United on Sunday. Joe Slovo Golden Stars claimed a 2–0 victory over Soweto Eleven FC.
Teams disappoint home supporters
Some teams took their home supporters aback after they failed to collect the three league points in their own home games during the ABC Motsepe League on Saturday.
In Stream A, Young Challengers’ supporters were heartbroken when their side went down 1–0 to the beleaguered Bush Bucks at Mount Ayliff Stadium, in Mount Ayliff.
Camdeboo Football Development Academy salvaged an all-important three league points after they overcame Kariega side Hanley 1–0 at Botanic Gardens Grounds in Graaff Reinet.
The evergreen Sinenkani FC kept their hopes of qualifying for the promotional playoffs alive as they handed the KwaZakhele-based side Peace Makers a 3–0 defeat during their game at Mbhizana Stadium in Bizana.
In Stream B, Amampondo United home supporters saw their side lose 3–0 to the Nelson Mandela Bay side Highbury, at New Rest Sports Ground in Lusikisiki.
Playing in front of home supporters at Mthetheleli Ngumbela Stadium in Butterworth, Matta Milan saw themselves go down 4–1 to FC Siyanda. After they succumbed 4–2 to Highbury in Summerstrand a week ago, Seven Stars earned a hard-fought 1–0 win over EMI FC at Dumpy Adams in Komani.
Following their 2–1 loss to EMI FC in Lady Grey a week ago, the hosts, Amaxesibe FC, continued with their dismal performance in their 3–2 loss to Ayliff City at Mount Ayliff Stadium.
