Highbury FC is still ABC Motsepe League Stream B log leaders
NELSON Mandela Bay side Highbury FC led the pack in the ABC Motsepe League Stream B in their bid to win the provincial play-offs at the end of the season.
On Friday the Nelson Mandela Bay lads outclassed Seven Stars 4–2 during their match at Nelson Mandela University South Campus Grounds in Summerstrand. After 11 games, Highbury have collected 28 league points. Highbury are nine points ahead of Amampondo United who are second on the log, after 10 games.
Nelson Mandela Bay side, Hanley, failed to pitch up for their Stream A game against FC Ravens at Mphuthumi Mafumbatha Stadium in Lusikisiki on Wednesday. On Saturday, Hanley were held to a goalless draw by Young Challengers at Jabavu Stadium in KwaNobuhle.
Hanley have collected eight league points from 11 games and are sixth on the Stream A log table.

After three successive losses in two weeks, Royal Bucks defeated the high-flying Eleven Stars 3–2 in their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Hollywood Bets Regional League encounter at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.

Fans came in large numbers to watch football of a high standard during the Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Swartkops Sea Salt Premier League games at Zwide Celtics on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, Everton FC gave up a good fight when they went down 1–0 to Mwalimu All Stars. Real Crusaders shared a 1–1 draw with Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club. The title contenders, Strikers United, had to sweat for a 2–1 victory from Young Brothers.
The league’s champions and unbeaten log leaders, Shining Stars, thumped Alaska 3–0. Umanyano Stars went down 7–2 to Kuyasa United Brothers. Morning Stars earned a much-needed 4–2 victory over Sophakama.
On Sunday, Gal City played their hearts out in a 3–2 loss to Duka Cosmos. Everton crashed 7–1 to Real Crusaders. Strikers continued with their winning ways as they registered a well-deserved 3–1 win over the hapless Sophakama. In the game that stole the show. Amadamara FC shared a 3–3 draw with Zwide Pirates. Umanyano Stars played to a 3–3 draw with Young Brothers during their enthralling game.
Eastern Cape Super 14 Rugby Competition performances
Some teams gave a good account of themselves, while others failed to play exciting rugby during the Eastern Cape Super 14 Rugby Competition games on Saturday.
In the Eastern Province Rugby Union (EPRU) conference, Gardens snatched a narrow 17–13 victory from PE Harlequins at De Wet Stadium in Despatch. One of the Eastern Cape’s dominant rugby forces, Kruisfontein, secured an easy 33–15 triumph over Park at De Wet Stadium as well. Trying Stars succumbed 32–22 to the tough Progress at Adcock Stadium in Korsten. Despatch Oostelikes (Easterns) edged out Hankey Villagers 23–21 at Adcock Stadium.
In the Border Rugby Union (BRU) Conference, the gutsy EC Police, alias Bobbies, thumped Berlin Tigers 63–0 at Police Park Grounds in East London. Old Selbornians lost 39–36 to Swallows at Cove Event & Sports Venue in East London. The home supporters of Young Leopards saw their side thrashing Komga United 46–17 at Gonubie Rugby Field. Moonlight lost 23–20 to Ncera Leopards in Mooiplaas.
