IN just one day, the Reach for a Dream Foundation makes dreams come true for six children with life-threatening illnesses. In one year, the foundation touches the lives of more than 30 000 children.

But the Covid-19 lockdown has temporarily grounded this “fairy godmother” and the dream children in waiting are going without the foundation’s magic.

Now, more than ever before, these dream children need to hear inspiring messages of hope.

The foundation can still be assisted in the following ways:

Step 1: Record a video and share a message of hope for children in waiting.

Step 2: Post it on social media tagging @ReachForADream with the hashtag #sharehope.

Step 3: Share your message with your family and friends.

Step 4: Share more hope and joy to dream children in waiting by donating just R30.

“We know that South Africans are resilient and positive, that we lift each other up,” said Reach for a Dream CEO, Julia Sotirianakos.

“We want to share your smiles, joy and buckets of positivity with the children in our care, to let them know that their dreams haven’t been forgotten, even in these unusual times.

“Let’s remind the children that they are loved, so that they can have courage,” Sotirianakos said.

“We also urge our fellow South Africans to make donations.

A donation of just R30 can help bring immeasurable joy and hope into a child’s life. Let’s make the wait for the end of the lockdown worth it: Join Reach for a Dream and #sharehope today.”
