The identities of seven of
the eight people that were shot dead in KwaZakhele on Sunday have been released
by police.

They have been identified as Vusumzi Sishuba, the 51-year-old owner of the house and his brother, Andile  Sishuba (52), a 54-year-old man, Kholekile France, Mbuyiseli Mboya (64), a 58-year old woman, Nomatamsanqa Mandla, a 42-year old woman, Nandipha Koliti and a young woman, Liyema Poro (20).

The identity of the last deceased is still to be verified.

Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that two of the three injured, a man and a woman, are still in hospital whilst a man was discharged yesterday afternoon.

“The investigation is
ongoing and the hunt for the suspects is continuing,” Naidu said.

The horrific scene unfolded at a birthday party at the Sishuba residence, when two men started shooting at the guests, killing seven instantly and injuring four. One of the injured died in hospital.

Police Minister, Gen. Bheki Cele, visited the family yesterday, January 30 and said that they will not rest until the perpetrators have been brought to book.

“The brutality that took place here, you can see that clearly that those people that came here (the shooters) wanted people dead and wanted to shut down families by killing brothers and friends,”Cele said.

“You can see the kind of people that were here and that tells you that those criminals have an issue but they also have to face consequences and give answers,” he added.
