Gqeberha police have launched an investigation into a double murder and an attempted murder after three people were shot in Sakasonke Village, Walmer Location, on Friday night, March 7.

According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, at about 19:00, SAPS Walmer responded to a complaint of a shooting.

She said that upon arrival, they found one male (34) in the doorway of the house with multiple gunshot wounds on his body and head. The second male (23) lay in front of the opposite house with multiple gunshot wounds on his body and head. A female victim (43) was also shot but was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“At this stage, the motive behind the attack is unclear, and no arrests have been made. Police are appealing to the community for assistance,” she stated.

“Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer John Lourens, at 071 352 4706 or alternatively Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.

“Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App. All information is confidential, and callers may remain anonymous.”
