Humewood detectives are investigating two inquests following
the deaths of two alleged homeless men in Humewood.

The bodies of two men were found in Humewood early this morning.

In the first incident in the early hours of this morning (Sunday)
a security officer from a hotel in the Humewood area close to Happy Valley
found the body of a man at approximately 05:00. No visible injuries were
observed and the cause of death is unknown. The man is aged between 45 – 50
years and is a well-known vagrant in the area. 

In the second incident, also this morning at approximately
07:30, a jogger stumbled onto the body of a man, estimated to be about 60-65
years old, in the vicinity of King’s Beach. There were also no visible injuries
on his body. It is also alleged that the deceased is a vagrant.

According to police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg,
the deaths are unrelated and post-mortems will be conducted to determine
their cause of death. 

“At this stage, no foul play is suspected. The names of
the deceased are known. However, police are trying to trace their next-of-kin,”
Janse van Rensburg said.
