Vanessa Langford’s journey from the quiet town of Nxuba (Cradock) to the bustling city of Gqeberha is a tale of resilience, determination, and success.
Born and raised in Nxuba, Vanessa relocated to Gqeberha in 1981, embarking on a corporate career that spanned over two decades. Her professional journey began in 1983 and culminated at the South African Post Office in 2007.
Unfazed by the end of her corporate career, Langford demonstrated her tenacity by launching DKZEE Cleaning Service in 2008, armed with nothing but a mop, a bucket, and an unyielding vision.
Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she won the BWA Regional Achievers Award in 2009 as an Emerging Entrepreneur, highlighting her significant influence on the local economy.
Beyond her business acumen, Langford is a dedicated single mother to her three sons, Dane, Kyle, and Zeeno Langford. Her cleaning business, built through sheer hard work and the power of word-of-mouth referrals, has garnered a stellar reputation for reliability and excellence within the industry.
Langford’s passion extends beyond her business. She is committed to empowering aspiring entrepreneurs, sharing her insights and experiences through her newly-launched book, and speaking engagements. Her story serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, encouraging others to transform setbacks into triumphs.
In her book, From the Toilet to the Top, the author recounts her incredible journey from single motherhood to entrepreneurial success, providing readers with practical advice and actionable strategies.
“The book guides readers on how to harness resilience in the face of adversity, implement effective entrepreneurship strategies, and embrace the transformative journey from hardship to triumph,” Langford said.
“I hope readers see my story as a testament to the power of determination and an unwavering spirit, offering valuable lessons for anyone aiming to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams with relentless determination,” she continued.
Her story is not just about cleaning services, but about cleaning up one’s life and paving the way to success.
From the Toilet to the Top will officially launch on June 15 in Newton Park, Gqeberha. For more information, contact Vanessa Langford via email at vanessa@dkzee.co.za.
