THROUGHOUT the years in the townships, people have been scared of Imoto Eba Abantwana – a car that kidnaps children – which mysteriously turns into a cabbage.
The car may not have been seen but, mystery or not, over the years, children have disappeared and some found sexually abused and dead.
Recent shocking stories, like the disappearance of seven-year old Sonja Payi from New Brighton who was later found dead, are causing a public outcry in South Africa.
It seems that residents live with beastly figures in the community who prey on young blood.
It is with this in mind that more than 50 high school learners from Walmer Township will bring Bhuti is the Beast to the stage to try to sensitise people and teach them about what is happening in society through theatre, music and visual arts.
Bhuti is the Beast will be performed at The PE Opera House on October 5 at 16:00.
Tickets are R40 per adult and R30 for students and pensioners.
They are available from Masifunde Changemaker Academy at 23 Witbooi Street, Walmer Township, as well as at The PE Opera House or at the door on the day of performance.
