TO the dismay of their loyal supporters, three scheduled ABC Motsepe League games were not played on Saturday.
This follows after SUBS, Amavarara and Tede United did not honour their last games of the season.
SUBS were supposed to have played away from home against Highbury FC at New Rest Stadium in Lusikisiki; Amavarara FC failed to travel to Motherwell NU2 Stadium, where they were going to face Bisho Stars while Tede United did not honour their away game against Siyanda FC in KwaBacha (formerly, Mount Frere).
According to SAFA Eastern Cape former secretary, Isaac Klaas, each team that failed to honour their game will be fined a penalty of R10 000 each.
Group 1 leaders BCM Stars accumulated four points in their two games. Stars shared a 1-1 draw with PE Stars at Gelvandale Stadium in Gqeberha on Wednesday and then punished Manchester United 3-0 at Jan Smuts Stadium in East London on Saturday.
Group 2 leaders, Spears of the Nation, also collected four league points in their two games. Spears earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory from Highbury in MaXesibeni (Mt Ayliff) on Wednesday and drew 1-1 with Sibiya All Stars in MaXesibeni on Saturday.
