Perfect weather is predicted for the Spar Kirkwood Wildsfees, which runs from Friday to Sunday, June 28 to 30.

Visitors to the Eastern Cape’s favourite family festival will be enthralled by the selection of over 300 selected stalls, will be shouting “yee haw!” during high-energy horse shows, and be inspired by the conservation theme in the refreshed Walk on the Wildside marquee, promises Wildsfees director, Jenni Honsbein.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the province’s rich marine, coastal, and inland natural heritage at the Walk on the Wildside experience, which includes activities for children.

The latest in camping equipment, agricultural machinery, and new vehicles will also be on display in separate expos that form part of the Wildsfees.

Themed “kuier” areas have been created for friends and family to connect and relax, while savouring estate wines, cold drinks, freshly prepared meals and snacks, beers and speciality spirits.

Multi-time aerobatics champion, Patrick Davidson, will enthral crowds on Sunday.

All this is in addition to over 21 hours of live entertainment on the giant ECPTA main stage, which is included in the entrance fee.

The line-up is headlined by Karen Zoid and her orchestra, and Bok van Blerk, on Friday; Kurt Darren and local star, Early B, with Justin Vega on Saturday night, and the biggest Wildsfees Sunday line-up to date, which ends with Dozi, West, and Ricus Nel.

Being part of the Wildsfees is “a definite must on the Eastern Cape events calendar, and it is beautiful to see how the Spar Kirkwood festival brings family and friends together, while creating employment opportunities not only for passionate entrepreneurs but the local community at large as well,” says Spar Eastern Cape advertising manager, Roseann Shadrach.

There will also be giant inflatable emojis, cosplayers in superhero costumes, pony rides, and massive puppets to add to the fun.

For the adventurous there will be bungee jumping, Fun4 U rides, paintball, Zorbing, and much more all weekend.

Investors in quality game and line bred Boran cattle will have the opportunity to purchase prime animals during the Spar Kirkwood Wildsfees weekend.

Offering high quality animals, including two SANParks rhino bulls and disease-free buffalo, the Kirkwood Wildsfees Game Auction will be hosted at the Mayogi bomas on Friday, June 28, starting at 12:00.

It will be followed by the first Boran Cattlemen’s auction, which will take place next to the festival grounds on the Saturday from 11:00.
