DOXA Deo Port Elizabeth, in conjunction with POPUP Nelson Mandela Bay, will be hosting the 895th Street Store in South Africa at Piet Retief Primary this Saturday.
Street Store is the world’s first rent-free, premises-free, pop-up clothing store for the homeless and underprivileged.
On May 18 they will be hosting a Street Store for the homeless and underprivileged and serving about 1 000 people with not only clothes and shoes, but also with food.
“We have had donations for soup, bread and cold drinks on the day, but we would also like to give each person/family a packet of fruit or vegetables to take home. If there is any business that would be able to assist it would be much appreciated.
“Bread, soup and margarine donations are also more than welcome,” said Yolande Botha, of Doxa Deo. Donations of clothes – especially for men and children – and shoes are always welcome as well. According to Botha, one of their other needs is clothing hangers.
Clothing donations can be dropped off at Doxa Deo Brymore on the corner of Kabega and Brymore Road until tomorrow, May 16.
