GQEBERHA – SAPS Algoa Park is investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of two siblings on Thursday 11 September 2025 on the R75.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that it is alleged that at approximately 09:15, SAPS Algoa Park responded to a complaint of an accident at the Spondo Road intersection. “On arrival they were informed that a red VW Caddy was travelling from Algoa Park towards Kwadwesi and a silver Renault Kwid was travelling from Spondo Road towards Missionvale and these two vehicles collided with each other,” she explained.
The tragic accident claimed the lives of a brother and sister who were travelling together. Both the driver and passenger died at the scene.
“The ages and names of the deceased will be released once the next of kin have been informed and have officially identified them,” Captain Janse van Rensburg stated.
