SHATTERPRUFE Struandale overcame the disappointment of losing the recent KC Hendricks final to Sovereign Foods by winning the most prestigious league trophy under the Nelson Mandela Bay Industrial League Federation on Sunday.
Despite their 2-1 loss to Mpact in their last game of the season, Shatterprufe had already wrapped up the league championship.
Shatterprufe played 23 matches, winning 19 of them.
The glass company’s side scored 118 goals and only conceded 23.
Their striker Lukhanyo Sheriff Rasmeni, managed to score 52 goals in all games sanctioned by the NMB Industrial Football League.
Willard Batteries, who looked as though they would take the honours earlier in the season, ended their league campaign as runners-up.
The battery company’s side managed to accumulate 52 league points after winning 17 games and drawing once.
Other league contenders, Aspen, finished in third place.
The bottom three teams on the NMB Industrial Football League table were Ford, BKB and Eveready.
Ford, who are last on the log standings, registered only two victories and lost 17 games.
BKB and Eveready salvaged 12 and 14 league points respectively following their seasons filled with dismal performances.
