SEVEN Sundowns Sports Club management urged their members to comply with the rules and regulations set by government during lockdown.
According to Sundowns’ deputy chairperson, Mncedisi Marks Thomas, the entire management of the club has urged its members to stay at home during the lockdown.
Thomas said that management were mindful of the fact that the players would like to practise and play games, but they must not break the rules and regulations of lockdown.
“On behalf of the club, I am appealing to Seven Sundowns Sports Club players and members to keep themselves and their families safe against this coronavirus,” he said.
“Covid-19 kills people and the numbers of people infected with it go up every day. We all know that President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that our country is under a nationwide lockdown. Stay home and save yourselves.”
The players were advised to train at home on their own but not in the field of play.
“In order to keep yourself fit and healthy, please train at your home either in the garage, spare room or the back yard. This will help you players to be fit and ready for the games after the lockdown.
“I would like to appeal to the parents to keep our junior players indoors too,” said Thomas.
He stated that his management would institute disciplinary action against those members who do not adhere to the rules and regulations set by the government during the lockdown.
“I want to appeal to parents to look after their children during this difficult time by keeping them indoors. Some children are seen playing in the streets at Motherwell NU 7,” Thomas said.
“Our ward councillor also appeals to the parents to keep their children in doors. The club management appeal to the players that they must not help the teams that play in tournaments during this time. Our management will take disciplinary actions against the players who do not comply,” said Thomas.
